I have finally taken some photographs of the famous green jacket I knitted for the Little Boy. It was originally going to be for the Little Girl, but for some reason I struggled to make myself work on it – no idea why, it wasn’t difficult or arduous and the yarn is lovely. So, by the time it was finished it was a bit too snug for the Little Girl, so it’s now part of the Little Boy’s wardrobe. I finished it a while ago but then kept forgetting to take pictures.
It is knitted in (the now discontinued) Colinette Tagliatelli yarn. When I first started knitting, the Little Girl was quite upset and refused to touch the yarn because it was ‘Ow!’. Further questioning uncovered that she thought it looked like nettles and would therefore sting her. So since then it became known as the Small Nettle Jacket. It’s knitted from a pattern in one of the Colinette books. As I seem to be incapable of knitting a pattern as written these days, I modified the collar a bit, and added the toggles and i-cord toggle loops because unfastened jackets just fall off active toddlers!
